LADIES OF HOT SPRINGS

By Jim Tannehill

When I met this sweet young female Dobe in Rapid City and realized she was badly abused, I let her follow me all the way home………in the back seat of my van! We already had two Dobes from DRON but you know how that goes with us dog lovers? But then the advice started rolling in. "IF YOU HAVE TWO FEMALES UNDER THE SAME ROOF, BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN!" I have experienced this with humans, but not dogs.

And this is pretty much the picture that all these advisers envisioned! A real knock down, drag out dog fight

I have been the proud owner of many pairs of intact males and have never had a dog fight. Never even came close to it. So I took the bit in my teeth and decided to weather the storm and trust my often-failed judgement. The results are evident in this picture.

My three girls watching TV. The caption should be,"WHERE’S THE BLOOD?" I have only owned one other female so my experience is very limited but I guess it is a case by case situation.

I do know that every dog needs a dog and in our case, Max has two dogs to call his own and we have three! How lucky can you get?
